My Deep Freeze Cleaned & Dethawed

Well, I was inspired to clean my deep freeze today by a post on The Lazy Organizer's Page on Talk about Tuesday. So I unplugged it, emptied it, placed a pan of HOT water in there, closed the lid and left it for 30 minutes. When I came back the ice slid right off. I scooped it all out. Cleaned the inside and wiped up all the water. Then instead of throwing everything back in like it was, I grabbed a couple of milk crates to sort everything and make the search process much easier next time I am after something specific. I put all the meat into its own crate, all the ice cream and desserts in one, anything related to breakfast in its own and a small storage container minus the lid was perfect for the few veggies I keep in the deep freeze. Awesome! I did it and it really didn't take me that long and it's all over and soooooooooooo much nicer! I can't wait to hear what my hubby says next time he goes looking for some ice cream snacks and doesn't have to dig!!

I mentioned this before, but I hate defrosting freezers. Of course, I never knew the hot water trick.

Job well done on tackling it!

You people are making me want a freezer for the garage even more than I already do! Good job using the crates to organize it a bit!
